Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to properly obtain a rearward movement preventing action that inhibits the rearward movement of a step portion by turning an operating pedal in the depression direction even when an intermediate lever cannot be turned in the output direction. When a dash panel is displaced rearward at the time of a vehicle collision or the like, the lever body (50) abuts a stopper (58) of a rearward movement preventing lever (56), thereby stopping rearward movement of the lever body (50). Then a fastening member (54) breaks and an output coupling member (52) is separated from the lever body (50) so that only the lever body (50) is relatively turned in the output direction. Thus, irrespective of whether or not an operating rod (32) can be relatively displaced forward of the vehicle, at least the lever body (50) of the intermediate lever (26) is relatively turned in the output direction and the operating pedal (18) coupled to the lever body (50) through a coupling link (28) is turned in the depression direction, thereby inhibiting the rearward movement of the step portion. Therefore, the rearward movement preventing action can be stably obtained.
