Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a fire detection system and a fire detection method that can deal with scenarios of a wider range and carry out accurate fire detection in a wide-range sensor that monitors fire situations by propagating optical signals. A receiver (10) according to the present disclosure is provided with: a detection unit (11) provided with a sensor that receives a first optical signal of a wavelength included in an absorption band of water molecules and a second optical signal of a wavelength included in an absorption band of carbon dioxide molecules; a signal processing unit (12) that calculates a water vapor concentration and a carbon dioxide concentration on the basis of changes in intensity of the first and second optical signals; and a determination unit (13) that determines whether there is a fire caused by alcohol combustion on the basis of the water vapor concentration and the carbon dioxide concentration.
