Abstract:
Provided is a receiving device, which is constituted to decide whether or not distribution data such as contents data stored in a buffer memory can be recorded (or stored) in a recording medium such as an HD (Hard Disk), and to report the decision result to the user. The receiving device comprises receiving means for receiving the distribution data distributed via the network from an information distribution device, storage means for storing the distribution data received, recording propriety deciding means for deciding whether or not the distribution data stored in the storage means can be recorded in the recording medium, and report control means for causing report means to report the decision result to the user.
