Abstract:
Provided is a receiving device, which can achieve communication between receiving devices connected by a network without the placement of a server or the like. The receiving device is provided with: a management unit, which determines whether the present device is a master device that distributes information to other receiving devices, or whether the present device is a slave device that receives the distribution of information from other receiving devices, and records the determination result; an information generation unit, which generates first information sent from the present device; a downstream communication unit, which, in the situation in which the determined result is that the present device is the master device, generates third information comprising at least one among the first information and second information generated by the other receiving devices as slave devices, and sends the third information to the other receiving devices as slave devices; an upstream communication unit, which, in the situation in which the determined result is that the present device is a slave device, sends the first information to the other receiving device serving as a master device, and receives the distribution of fourth information generated by the other receiving device as master devices; and a playback unit, which plays back the fourth information.
