The present invention relates to a reciprocating electric motor. The electric motor comprises a motor housing, a stator component, a rotor component, an end cover, and a position-limiting component; the position-limiting component is arranged in a space enclosed by the end cover and the motor housing; the position-limiting component contains a first magnet arranged in a first position, a second magnet arranged in a second position, and a movable magnet which can oscillate in an oscillation area between the first magnet and the second magnet as the rotor component rotates, the magnetic poles of the movable magnet, the first magnet, and the second magnet in the same direction being opposite to each other; the magnetic force between the rotor component and movable magnet and the first magnet and second magnet causes the rotary shaft of the rotor assembly to reset to an intermediate position of reciprocating rotation when the motor is disconnected from the power supply. The magnetic force between the movable magnet and the first magnet and second magnet supports the commutation of the rotary shaft of the motor; the method reduces the burden on the motor and shortens the commutation time, and the service life of the motor is long.
