Abstract:
In the present invention a shock absorber (100) comprises a tube (10), a piston rod (20), a rod guide (60), and a seal member (70) closing off an interval between the tube (10) and the piston rod (20). The seal member (70) has a base section (71), and an outer peripheral lip section (74) provided extending from the base section (71) in the axial direction and compressed between an inner peripheral surface of the tube (10) and an outer peripheral surface of the rod guide (60). The outer peripheral surface of the outer peripheral lip section (74) has an outside pressing portion (74a) provided at a distance from the base section (71) in the axial direction and pressed by the inner peripheral surface of the tube (10), and the outside pressing portion (74a) is formed bulging in a curved shape over its entirety in a state in which the outer peripheral lip section (74) is not compressed.
