Abstract:
Provided is a reclining device including an adjustment mechanism and an engagement/disengagement mechanism, which can realize angle adjustment without swinging a seat back. The reclining device comprises a power-driven mechanism and a manually-driven mechanism. The power-driven mechanism includes: an internal gear having a first tooth part having a first number of teeth; and a common gear that is rotatably disposed at a position facing the internal gear and has a second tooth part having a second number of teeth different from the first number of teeth. Furthermore, the manually-driven mechanism includes: a lock member that has a lock tooth capable of locking the rotation of the common gear and can move between a lock position and an unlock position; a guide member that guides the movement operation of the lock member; and locked teeth that are fixed to the common gear and can engage with the lock tooth to form a locked state. In the common gear, the locked teeth having the same diameter and the same number as teeth of the second tooth part are arranged on the axially front and rear surfaces of the common gear.
