Abstract:

Provided is a recording apparatus for reliably recording content data into a detachable/attachable recording medium and smoothly reproducing the content data. A recorder (recording apparatus) (1) is provided with a storage unit (12) separately from an optical disk drive (11). The storage unit (12) has a plurality of storage areas. The recorder (1) registers a specific optical disk (recording medium) in association with a specific storage area. The recorder (1) associates recording reservation information (program specifying information) with an optical disk and stores the information. When the optical disk which is associated with the reservation information is not mounted while the program is being broadcasted, the recorder (1) stores content data into the storage area associated with the optical disk, and when the optical disk is mounted at a later time, the recorder (1) records the content data which is stored in the storage area into the optical disk. When the content data needed to reproduce a program is stored in the storage unit (12), the recorder (1) reproduces the program on the basis of the content data stored in the storage unit (12).
