Abstract:
Proposed is a new anti-skimming technique that can dampen the will to perform skimming. A card handling mechanism (100) is provided with: an insertion opening (130) that receives the insertion of a cash card (90); and a protrusion (200) that protrudes from the insertion opening (130). The protrusion (200) has a guide surface (202) and a first limiter (310). The guide surface (202) configures a surface that guides the insertion and ejection of the cash card (90), and faces the magnetic stripe (98) of the cash card (90) during the insertion and ejection of the cash card (90). The first limiter (310) isolates the guide surface (202), faces the insertion opening (130), and limits the range of motion of the cash card (90) at the guide surface (202) along the insertion direction (Di) of the cash card (90).
