Title:
RECYCLING METHOD FOR HEAVY RARE EARTH ELEMENT AND RECYCLING METHOD FOR RARE EARTH MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/091801
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention is a method for collecting a heavy rare earth element from a heavy rare earth element-containing molten salt electrolysis residue and recycling the same, wherein said method comprises: a step for executing a fluorination process on coarse particles of a molten salt electrolysis residue by means of mixing and firing the coarse particles of the molten salt electrolysis residue and a fluorination agent; a step for crushing the fluorinated coarse particles of the molten salt electrolysis residue and obtaining a powder 21 of the molten salt electrolysis residue; and a step for mixing the powder 21 of the molten salt electrolysis residue with a R,R-M alloy or an R-M-B alloy 31 (R is one or more rare earth elements selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Ce, Nd, Pr, Sm, Gd, Dy, Tb, and Ho, M is a transition metal such as Fe or Co, and B is boron), heating and melting the same, separating slag 22 and a molten alloy 32, and selectively extracting the heavy rare earth element in the molten alloy 32. The present invention can provide a recycling method for a heavy rare earth element which can effectively recycle a rare heavy rare earth element in an alloyed state close to a manufactured good, and a recycling method for a rare earth magnet which uses the alloy obtained by the aforementioned recycling method.
