Title:
REDOX FLOW CONVERTER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2024/022554
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
A redox flow converter (1) comprises a plurality of redox flow cells (3) arranged in the form of a cell stack (2), wherein each redox flow cell (3) is formed from two half-cells (4, 5) separated from one another by a membrane (7) such that the height (Hs) of each redox-flow cell (3) is given by the heights (H4, Hs) of its half cells (4, 5), wherein frames (6) exist that surround the membranes (7), and wherein in the frames (6), shunt channels (19) connected to active fields (11) and electrodes (8) of the half cells (4, 5) are provided. The height (H) of the shunt channels (19) exceeds an individual half cell height (H4, Hs), but is less than the height (Hs) of each redox flow cell (3).
