Abstract:
A reflecting sheet or reflecting/semitransmitting sheet having a light scattering resin layer where small particles are dispersed and a light reflecting layer or light reflecting/semitransmitting layer, wherein the ten points average height Rz of the surface of the light scattering layer is below 2 $g(m)m, the ratio of refractive index of the small particles to the resin layer excepting the small particles is (1.001 to 1.2) :1, and the thickness of the light scattering layer ranges 3 to 50 $g(m)m. When such a reflecting or reflecting/semitransmitting sheet is applied to a reflection or reflection/transmission liquid crystal display, the visibility of the displayed image is improved and high definition image display is possible.
