Abstract:
A refrigeration cycle device (1) comprises: a first circuit (5a) in which a first refrigerant circulates; a second circuit (10) in which a carbon dioxide refrigerant and a refrigerating machine oil circulate; a cascade heat exchanger (35) in which the carbon dioxide refrigerant is heated by the first refrigerant; and a control unit (80). The second circuit has: a second compressor; a container that is provided on the suction side of the second compressor, and that retains the carbon dioxide refrigerant and the refrigerating machine oil; a suction pipe (23a) that connects the suction side of the second compressor to the container; an oil return passage (23b) through which the refrigerating machine oil is returned from a lower portion of the container to the suction pipe; and a valve provided in the oil return passage. The control unit performs activation control to open the oil return valve after the start of circulation of the first refrigerant in the first circuit.
