Refrigeration equipment and a control method thereof. The refrigeration equipment comprises a casing body, which has a defrosting chamber and a compressor compartment chamber (1). The refrigeration equipment further comprises an evaporation pan (6) arranged in the compressor compartment chamber (1), a drain pipe (5) communicated with the defrosting chamber and the compressor compartment chamber (1), and a moisture evaporation device (8) arranged in the evaporation pan (6). The moisture evaporation device (8) is provided with a water inlet structure into which a water outlet end of the drain pipe (5) can extend. On the basis of the structure of the refrigeration equipment, water from frost in the drain pipe (5) is discharged into the evaporation pan (6) by means of the moisture evaporation device (8). In the process of water flowing through the moisture evaporation device (8), the evaporation area of water is increased, thus the evaporation speed of water is increased, and the hidden danger of overflowing to the outside of the evaporation pan (6) due to the fact that the evaporation speed of water in the evaporation pan (6) is too low is avoided.
