Abstract:
The present invention relates to a refrigerator and a method for controlling an operation by estimating the thermal capacity of a product. The refrigerator for controlling an operation thereof by estimating the thermal capacity of a product, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: at least one partitioned storage space; a camera for photographing a product stored in the storage space; a controller for estimating the thermal capacity of the product on the basis of an image taken by the camera and setting an operation phase of the refrigerator on the basis of the estimation result; and a compressor for providing cooling capacity to the refrigerator on the basis of the setting of the controller.
