A refrigerator where the structure of a cool air passage to storage cases is improved to reduce heat leakage to the outside, enhancing cooling efficiency and reducing the amount of electric power consumption. The refrigerator has a storage room (7) provided in the front of the refrigerator so as to be adjacent to, with a heat-insulating wall (27) in between, a machine room (30) where a compressor (31) is installed, storage cases (11, 12) held on the inner surface of a door (9) closing a front opening of the storage room and drawn out as the door is opened, a cool air outlet (19) provided in a rear portion of the storage room and introducing cool air into the storage cases, an outflow opening (25) provided in the rear face of a storage case and returning the cool air having circulated in the cases to a cooler (13), and a return duct (26) provided between the outflow opening and a suction opening of the cooler. The return duct is provided so as to cover a surface of the heat-insulating wall opposite the machine room, leaving a gap between the duct and the surface.
