Abstract:
The present invention relates to a refrigerator. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the refrigerator comprises: a compressor for compressing a refrigerant; an evaporator for performing heat exchange using the refrigerant compressed by the compressor; an RF generator for generating RF signals to the evaporator to remove frost accumulated on the evaporator; and a control unit for controlling the RF generator, wherein the control unit, on the basis of the RF signals, causes the frost to phase-change to liquid by means of heat generated by a plurality of metal pins in the evaporator, and following the phase change, causes the temperature of the phase-changed liquid to increase due to movements of water molecules induced by the RF signals. Accordingly, defrosting can be performed using RF signals.
