Abstract:
This refrigerator comprises: a box-shaped insulated box body that has a storage chamber formed therein for storing cooling items and that has a door for covering the front thereof; a temperature adjustment unit that is provided to the insulated box body to adjust the temperature of the storage chamber; and a control unit that is provided to the insulated box body to control the temperature adjustment unit. For a non-usage time period during which the door is opened/closed infrequently, the control unit sets a target temperature, which is a temperature targeted when the temperature adjustment unit adjusts the temperature of the storage chamber, to a supercooling temperature which is below a normal temperature that is predetermined, so that the temperature of the cooling items is at or below the freezing point.
