Abstract:
A regenerator 38 comprises: a container outer cylinder 74; a container inner cylinder 76 by which a regeneration material accommodating space is formed with the container outer cylinder 74; a plurality of deformable disc-shaped regeneration members 62 that are nested in the axial direction in the regeneration material accommodating space; and a pair of container covers 80 that are disposed on the axial ends of the regeneration material accommodating space and that sandwich the plurality of deformable disc-shaped regeneration members 62 so that an axial compressive force is applied. The radial distance of the disc-shaped regeneration members 62 in a non-deformed state is shorter than the inter-cylinder distance between the container outer cylinder 74 and the container inner cylinder 76, and the creepage length thereof is longer than the radial distance.
