Abstract:
The present invention relates to a reinforcing bar coupler that is small in size and light and of which the manufacturing cost is reduced, and a method for manufacturing same. The reinforcing bar coupler, according to the present invention, is a reinforcing bar coupler for connecting or fixing reinforcing bars, the reinforcing bar coupler comprising: a housing having a hollow inside and having first and second insertion ports for inserting reinforcing bars on both sides thereof; first and second fixing members, installed inside the housing, for respectively fixing first and second reinforcing bars, which are inserted through the first and second insertion ports; first and second elastic members for pressing the first and second fixing members toward the first and second insertion ports, respectively; and first and second support members for supporting the first and second elastic members, respectively, wherein the housing is composed of an integrated body and is characterized in that the inner diameter decreases monotonically toward the first and second insertion ports.
