Abstract:

Provided are a plurality of relay apparatuses for relaying transmission/receipt of data, a communication system including the relay apparatuses, and a communication method; and when data is exchanged among the relay apparatuses, the time required for the exchange can be reduced by cutting communication traffic to lower a communication load. Relay apparatuses (3a), (3b) and (3c) read out data attribute values, i.e. numeric information representing measurement values, calculation values, control values, and the like from receiving buffers (37a), (37b) and (37c) that receive and store data from electronic control units (ECUs) connected to the relay apparatuses (3a), (3b) and (3c). Then, the relay apparatuses (3a), (3b) and (3c) create trunk frames including the numeric information, and transmit/receive the trunk frames via trunks (4). Further, the relay apparatuses (3a), (3b) and (3c) read out numeric information from the trunk frames received from other relay apparatuses (3a), (3b) and (3c), and update the numeric information of each data stored in their own databases (31a), (31b) and (31c) with the read out numeric information.
