Abstract:
A relay device connected to two networks of a hierarchy of a plurality of networks and further connected to first communication devices that are directly connected to a first lower tier network, which is the lower of the two networks, said relay device being provided with a storage unit (56) storing connection information which: includes type identification information about the first communication devices and type identification information about second communication devices that are connected to the lower side of the relay device via a second lower tier network below the first lower tier network; also includes information about the number of second communication devices or about the memory regions allocated to the first communication devices and the second communication devices; and is arranged in a manner that allows identification of the network tier to which each communication device is connected.
