Abstract:
Provided is a relay device that is mounted on a vehicle and relays data transmitted and received between a plurality of vehicle-mounted ECUs. The relay device comprises: a plurality of communication units for communicating with respective ones of the vehicle-mounted ECUs; a plurality of control units corresponding to respective ones of the plurality of communication units; and a storage unit accessible from each of the plurality of control units. Each of the plurality of control units performs an initialization process separately. The control unit that has completed the initialization process, upon acquiring data to be relayed that is to be relayed via a communication unit corresponding to another control unit that has not completed the initialization process, writes part of the acquired data to be relayed in a common region shared with the other control unit that has not completed the initialization process, to thereby store the part of the data in the storage unit.
