Abstract:
A home gateway (26) includes a WAN interface unit (30), a LAN interface unit (34),
an analog interface unit (38), a LAN control unit (36), an analog control unit
(40), and a central control unit (58). The WAN interface unit communicates with
an external telephone. The LAN interface unit communicates with a plurality
of telephones constituting an IP telephone system. The LAN control unit and the
analog control unit control the LAN interface unit and the analog interface unit
so that the destination telephone transmits type information. According to
the information received by the WAN interface unit, the central control unit
generates the type information corresponding to the type of the information
to be communicated with the external telephone. Thus, a user can easily judge
which telephone is to be used when a call is received by a plurality of telephones.
