Abstract:
A relay drive device (20) drives a plurality of relays (70), each including a switch (72) and a coil (74) for driving the switch (72). The relay drive device includes power sources (30, 40) for outputting a first voltage (V1) and a lower second voltage (V2), and a control device (22). During an excitation start period, the control device adopts a first voltage state in which the first voltage is applied continuously to the coil. Meanwhile, for at least a prescribed period during a current maintaining period after the excitation start period, a state is adopted in which the first voltage is not applied to the coil and the second voltage is applied continuously to the coil.
