Abstract:
A reluctance motor capable of sufficiently increasing a torque and output, wherein platy permanent magnets (24) are disposed at oppposite edges (S2) of salient poles (22) projecting from a rotor yoke (21), with one edge of each permanent magnet positioned in the vicinity of a peripheral edge on a stator (14) side of a salient pole (22) and along a projecting direction of a salient pole (22) and with their polarities arranged alike to each other, whereby magnet magnetic fluxes (M¿p?) form short loops to saturate and the surroundings of permanent magnets (24) function virtually as air gaps. Therefore, a reluctance with respect to a d-axis flux (M¿D?) flow increases and a d-axis inductance decreases.
