Abstract:

The present invention relates to a method and a device capable of controlling various peripheral devices via a remote-control device by setting up or updating an infrared (IR) blaster database in the remote-control device. A remote-control device according to an embodiment of the present specification comprises: a first interface connected to a first device so as to perform communication to execute a configuration process for controlling a second device; a second interface connected to the second device so as to perform communication to control an operation of the second device; an input unit capable of receiving various commands from a user; a database in which a control code for controlling of the second device is stored; and a control unit for performing control to receive a predetermined command from the user through the input unit, perform predetermined signal processing, and then transfer same to the first device through the first interface or receive a signal from the first device through the first interface, and performing control to extract the control code enabling a control of the second device from among control codes stored in the database so as to transfer the extracted control code to the second device through the second interface.
