Abstract:
Provided are a remote operation support system and method whereby the precision of spatial recognition by an operator remotely operating a work machine can be improved. A captured image that shows conditions surrounding a work machine (40) is captured by an imaging device (412b) mounted on the work machine (40). A composite image is produced by superimposing, onto the captured image, an index image virtually showing an index member disposed in a cab (454) (driver cab) of the work machine (40). The composite image is displayed on a remote output interface (220) of a remote operation device (20) for remotely operating the work machine (40).
