Abstract:
Reinforcing bars are conveyed by means of hourglass-shaped rollers, and a plurality of reinforcing bars are successively connected in series by means of a connecting jig. The connected reinforcing bars are subjected to resin coating treatment, and after having been conveyed for an adequately long cooling period, the connected reinforcing bars are separated individually. During this interval, the reinforcing bars are connected together and are supported by adjacent reinforcing bars, and are therefore conveyed smoothly, and since the reinforcing bars are cooled adequately while being suspended in midair, the coating resin does not become scratched. It is thus possible to manufacture resin coated reinforcing bars which have been coated with a thermoplastic resin having an excellent elongation and good workability, such as PVB resin, with a high productivity. Further, coating resin that has not been completely cured can also be prevented from coming into contact with the support rollers by providing a guiding member with which leading portions of the reinforcing bars that are hanging down slide and are guided upwards, without connecting a plurality of reinforcing bars together, thereby similarly preventing the coating resin from becoming scratched.
