Abstract:
Provided is a resin composition for forming a novel resin film in a liquid crystal display element, whereby adhesion between a liquid crystal layer and an electrode can be increased, and peeling of the element, formation of bubbles, and degradation of optical characteristics can be suppressed for a long time and even in a harsh environment of exposure to light irradiation or high temperature and high humidity. A resin composition for forming a resin film in a liquid crystal display element having a liquid crystal layer obtained by irradiating with ultraviolet rays and curing a liquid crystal composition including a polymerizable compound and liquid crystal disposed between a pair of substrates provided with an electrode, the resin film being provided on a substrate provided with the electrode, in order to prevent contact between the electrode and the liquid crystal layer, the resin composition characterized by including a polymer having at least one type of structure selected from the group consisting of formula [1-a] through formula [1-i]. In the formulas, Xa represents a hydrogen atom or a benzene ring.
