Abstract:
Provided is a resin composition for an optical material, the resin composition exhibiting high transparency, negative phase difference development properties, and storage stability. More specifically, this resin composition for an optical material contains: a cellulose resin (A); and at least one type of polymer selected from between (B1) a hydroxyl group-containing polymer of styrene and (B2) a copolymer of a hydroxyl group-containing styrene derivative other than styrene and a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylic acid ester. The content of the hydroxyl group-containing polymer (B1) of styrene and the copolymer (B2) of a hydroxyl group-containing styrene derivative other than styrene and a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylic acid ester is 40 mol% or less. The number average molecular weight of the hydroxyl group-containing polymer (B1) of styrene and that of the copolymer (B2) of a hydroxyl group-containing styrene derivative other than styrene and a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylic acid ester is 5000 or less.
