Abstract:
Provided are a resin for hair cosmetics and a hair cosmetic, that exhibit both a high level of adherence and a high level of combability without a loss of performance, e.g., nonstickiness, water resistance, colorability, and ease of washing. This resin for hair cosmetics is a resin for hair cosmetics in which a poly(N-acylalkylimine) segment (b) comprising a repeat unit represented by formula (1), is bonded via a heteroatom-containing alkylene group to at least 2 silicon atoms in an organopolysiloxane segment (a) that constitutes a main chain, and is characterized in that the heteroatom-containing alkylene group is either of the groups represented by formula (i) or (ii), the mass-average molecular weight of the segment (a) is 10,000 to 100,000, the number-average molecular weight of the segment (b) is less than 800, and the mass ratio between (a) and (b) [(a)/(b)] is 58/42 to 90/10.
