Abstract:
A resin for preparing lens with high refractive index, which is prepared by copolymerizing one or more monofunctional monomers selected from the compounds represented by formula (I): (wherein X represents oxygen or sulfur, Y represents Cl or Br, R represents H or methyl, m represents 0 or 1, and n represents an integer of 1 to 5) with one or more bifunctional monomers selected from the compounds represented by formula (II): (wherein Z represents H, Cl or Br, R represents H or methyl, and p represents an integer of 1 to 4), and lens prepared therefrom are disclosed. This resin has a high refractive index and excellent workability (such as grinding) and impact strength. In addition, upon copolymerization, the monofunctional monomer and the bifunctional monomer are well compatible with each other due to the resemblance in molecular structure, and therefore polymerization distortion scarcely takes place.
