Abstract:
Provided is a resistance spot welding method which is capable of efficiently generating the largest possible nugget while suppressing the occurrence of spattering. This resistance spot welding method involves overlaying two or more steel plates which have a plating layer having zinc as a principal component thereof or have an Al-Si plating layer, sandwiching the two or more steel plates between a pair of electrodes, and joining the adjacent steel plates to one another by fusing the same by performing a pre-conduction between the pair of electrodes, and thereafter, performing the main conduction. This resistance spot welding method involves performing the pre-conduction in a manner such that the maximum current value is the welding current value when starting the pre-conduction, and a conduction pattern is used in which the current value sequentially decreases in a step-wise manner from the maximum value as time passes during the conduction interval starting from when conduction starts.
