Abstract:
In order to prevent the flow of water from eroding filling material when the water level of a river rises, a retaining wall structure is configured in a manner such that a plurality of retaining wall blocks with openings on top and filling cavities inside are stacked in a staircase formation, and the retaining wall blocks of the lower stairs have part of their openings exposed to the outside. In order to prevent the filling material packed inside the filling cavities from being exposed to the outside, the top parts of the filling cavities that are exposed to the outside are filled with a large aggregate material as an erosion prevention material. By using a large aggregate material with a maximum diameter that is larger than the front-to-back width of the part of retaining wall block openings that are exposed to the outside, the large aggregate material is prevented from being washed away to the outside through the openings.
