Abstract:
A retrovirus growth inhibitor containing daphnodorins A, B and C, as the active ingredients, which are lowly toxic and inhibit the growth of retroviruses so intensely that they can prevent or treat diseases caused by retroviruses, such as AIDS, adult T cell leukemia or HAM. Conceivable mechanisms of action of daphnodorins A, B and C include those other than the inhibition of reverse transcriptase, auch as the inhibition of syncytium formation (that of giant cell formation).
