Description:
REUSABLE PROTECTIVE FACE MASK

TECHNICAL FIELD

This invention relates to a reusable protective face mask which will find application in the field of healthcare and in particular for wide application in hospitals, schools, industrial plants and others for protection against dirty air, microbes, allergens and dust, as well as for a better supply of oxygen to the body.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The extremely topical lately problem of polluted air is gaining more and more popularity. Mankind puts a lot of effort into fighting this problem, but with the intensive pace of development of the economy and industry of every country in the modem world, this fight is extremely difficult. The World Health Organization links air pollution directly to five of the most common and deteriorating life standards lung and cardiovascular diseases.

No human body would survive without inhaling oxygen for more than a few minutes. When the air is polluted, in addition to the fact that the inhaled oxygen is insufficient, fine dust particles, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and other toxic substances and allergens enter the body.

Irregularly shaped textile masks are known in the art, including an upper part to cover the nose, a lower part to cover the chin and two side parts to which elastic ties are attached. Known masks filter harmful particles in the air such as dust, allergens, microbes, sawdust, biological products, mould, mould spores, smoke particles and other contaminants. The benefits of using a mask as a means of protection against industrial polluted air are confirmed by leading health organizations around the world. They allow a person to breathe comfortably without inhaling unhealthy particles. Depending on the degree of concentration of harmful substances and their origin, different protection is used for the respiratory system. High-performance filter masks help protect the mask wearer from particles up to 0.254 microns in size.

No protective face masks are known which, together with the protection of the respiratory organs from harmful substances, provide a better supply of oxygen to the body.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The object of the invention is to provide a protective face mask for multiple uses, which provides both protection of the respiratory organs from the surrounding atmosphere harmful substances, and a better supply of oxygen to the body.

The problem is solved by creating a reusable protective face mask, which consists of an irregularly shaped textile body, including an upper part to cover the nose, a lower part to cover the chin and two side parts to which elastic ties are attached. According to the invention, an opening is formed in the textile body for the fixed attachment of a polymer container, inside which an oxygen tablet or an oxygen capsule and an air valve are located.

In one embodiment of the mask, the oxygen tablet or oxygen capsule is connected by electrodes to an electrical batery attached to the outside of the polymer container. In a preferred embodiment of the mask, the oxygen tablet or oxygen capsule comprises sodium peroxide.

In another embodiment, the oxygen tablet or oxygen capsule contains an added flavour.

The polymer container is located on the left, in the central or on the right part of the textile body.

It is also possible to make a protective face mask in which a purifying filter is fixed in the textile body.

The advantage of the created protective mask is that it provides enrichment of the inhaled air with oxygen, as well as easier breathing through the installed air valve. In addition, through the additional purifying filter, the mask also protects the respiratory organs from surrounding atmosphere harmful substances and from viral infections spread by airborne droplets.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

The present invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a reusable protective face mask according to the invention;

Figure 2 is a cross-section along AA through the polymer container of the protective face mask of Figure 1; Figure 3 is a diagram of a reusable protective face mask with an additional purifying filter;

Figure 4 is a diagram of a reusable protective face mask with provided electric battery; and

Figure 5 is a cross-section along BB through the polymer container of the protective face mask of Figure 4.

DETAILED DESCRIPRION OF EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

The reusable protective face mask shown in Figures 1 and 2 is composed of an irregularly shaped textile body 1 comprising an upper part to cover the nose, a lower part to cover the chin and two side parts to which elastic connections 3 are attached. In the textile body 1 is formed an opening for fixed attachment of a polymer container 2, inside which an oxygen tablet or an oxygen capsule 4 and an air valve 5 are located.

In one embodiment of the mask shown in Figures 4 and 5, the oxygen tablet or oxygen capsule 4 is connected by electrodes 8 to an electric battery 7 attached to the outside of the polymer container 2.

In a preferred embodiment, the oxygen tablet or oxygen capsule 4 comprises sodium peroxide.

In another embodiment, the oxygen tablet or oxygen capsule 4 contains an added flavour. The polymer container 2 is located on the left, in the central or on the right part of the textile body 1.

It is also possible to make the protective face mask shown in Figure 3, in which a cleaning filter 6 is fixed in the textile body 1.

USE OF THE INVENTION

Sodium peroxide is a white solid that releases oxygen when it reacts with carbon dioxide exhaled.

After applying the mask, as a result of the breath of the mask wearer, exhalation activates the gradual release of oxygen from the tablets or capsules 4. The released balanced amount of oxygen enriches the inhaled air to better supply the body with oxygen. The oxygen tablets or capsules 4 are replaced after the oxygen in them is depleted.

It is possible to add aromas of plant extracts, essential oils, hydrosols, base oils or extracts to the oxygen tablet or oxygen capsule 4.

The purification filter 6 may have a different level of protectio'n, depending on the need, for example:

- FFP1 filter type provides a minimum level of protection against non-toxic dust particles;

- FFP2 filter type provides a moderate level of protection against hazardous mists, dust particles and fumes;

- FFP3 filter type provides the highest level of protection by protecting against fine toxic particles, including asbestos, bacteria, viruses and radioactive particles.
