Abstract:
Provided is a reverse osmosis treatment process which can inhibit a reverse osmosis (RO) membrane from being deteriorated by the heavy metal contained in an iron-based inorganic coagulant. A reverse osmosis treatment process which comprises adding an iron-based inorganic coagulant to the water to be treated, subjecting the resulting water to solid-liquid separation by floatation, dual filtration or the like, and then treating the thus obtained water in a reverse osmosis unit, wherein both a chelate-based scale inhibitor and a scale dispersant are added to the feed water for the reverse osmosis unit, said chelate-based scale inhibitor being preferably ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid or nitrilotriacetic acid.
