Abstract:
A floating vessel carrying a digging apparatus with a required offshore structure for digging a well in the sea bed. A riser extending from the vessel into the well in the sea bed surrounds a drill string so as to provide a circulation of dug muddy water and dug fluid. This riser is constituted by at least two segments that can detachably be connected to each other, and one of the two can move together with the floating vessel, while the other stays at a predetermined location until the two segments are connected to each other again by providing buoyancy. A riser system for use for a producing operation is also provided that comprises at least two detachable segments.
