Abstract:
A road divider cum road blocker method (100) disclosed wherein precast H block row (3) of road divider rows (4) interlocked each other to close the road(1) to block suspicious vehicle (10) from front & back side by removing locking attachment from fixed pole(9A&9D) and lock to other side fixed pole (8A &8B) mounted on footpath(2). A steel wire rope (7) passing through a pin hole (6) of H block to connect H blocks & for locking between fixed pole (9B and 8A) as well as fixed pole (9C & 8B). A wheel (5) at bottom of H block fixed to move a row (3). Movable H block row (3) provided with Nail (15), reflector (14) and impact resists guard (13) and upper hollow part used for plantation(11).

CLAIMS:

A. method for road divider cum road blocker (100) to block suspicious vehicle (10) , tl said method comprising:

1) A number of rows of H blocks (4) used as road divider in normal situation

1) a row of horizontally inter locking b!ock(3) , having a pin hole (6) at the centre ar wheel (5) at the bottom ii) a wire / rope/ bar / pipe / spring (7) passing through said pin hoIe(6) to mal attachment of block of row fitted to a fixed pole at both end (9A and 9B) iii) other end of initial row (3) of blocks move to other side of the road to block tl road manually, semi automatically or automatically and locked in pole/fixing structu (SA ) fixed at other side of the road iv) upper hallow part of block utilized for plantation (1 1) v) similarly back end / mid row of road divider unlock from pole ( 9D ) and moi towards similar side of the road to lock in pole(8B) to block the vehicle(lO) from back vi) The row of block (4) along with pole (9A,9B,9C &9D) can be shifted to requin lane easily during peak hour of traffic to widen the road.

Description:
NAME OF INVENTION : A ROAD DIVIDER CUM ROAD BLOCKER

FIELD OF THE INVENTION : This invention relates to smoothen road traffic and handle abnormal/emergency situation efficiently

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION:

It is seen that every year huge losses are incurred due to break down of vehicles in middle of the road and traffic gets stuck for many hours. Also due to moving traffic on road it becomes difficult to stop suspicious vehicle. Mentally ill person drives vehicle speedily with passengers for long distance causing many lives and great damage threat. In foreign countries also inspite of continous efforts to reduce such losses, very little success is achieved.

In India, in Pune a bus driver named Santosh Mane had hijacked a state transport bus from Swargate depot on the morning of January 25, 2012, and mowed down 9 persons, injuring 37and smashing 25 vehicles in a nightmarish ride over 25km stretch on the city streets who was finally stopped only when two cars hit each other in the middle of the road and blocked the road.

A barrier comprising a generally rectangular tray with upstanding peripheral walls at least at the rear and sides , at least one cover member pivotally mounted to the tray to be movable between a lowered inoperative position for a vehicle to drive there over and a raised operative position upstanding from the tray, and means within the tray for moving the at least one cover member between the inoperative and operative positions, the at least one cover member when in its operative position creating a step of sufficient height substantially to prevent vehicle passage there over.

This invention relates to the design of an upstanding 'A' road blocker structure having in the blocking condition the cross-section with two covers hinged and protruding from two opposing positioned pivots located on a rectangular metal frame. The road blocker according to the present invention controls and selectively impedes passage of vehicles on a roadway. It comprises a framework for burying and integrating in a trench on a roadway, a blocking element which is rotatably attached on said framework and at least one actuating means for erecting and retracting said blocking element pivotably around an upper rear profile of said framework. The blocking element according to the present invention has an impact surface which is concave in shape for encompassing and localizing tires of a colliding vehicle during use. The blocking element comprises a plurality of support members whose lateral surface are concave arc shaped for receiving and transmitting impact forces occurring on the impact surface to the framework during use.

According to Road barrier systems and methods -US publication no. US 4954009 A " ' Barrier systems and methods include relatively narrow, cast, silica fume concrete road barriers for work site protection, road edge, and traffic lane divider locations. Reflector-bearing caps close recesses at the location of fasteners securing the barriers to a road surface. Reflectors with mounting portions secured between adjacent end faces of barriers project outward to expose a reflector portion to headlights iiTan adjoining traffic lane. Barrier extension members affixed atop a line of barriers reduce headlight glare, help prevent vehicles toppling over the barriers, and prevent relative rocking of one barrier with respect to another. Permanent barrier installations include a rope-like soft Butyl rubber seal damming locations where fasteners extend into the road surface to retain a hardening bonding agent and form a liquid and contaminant impervious environment for the fasteners. Drop-in-place barriers with openings extending their entire height locate over supporting uprights previously used for metal strip barrier. And barriers to be located quickly on soft undersurfaces have openings extending their entire height and securing posts driven there through The above said patents and solutions fail to serve dual purpose of road blocker and road divider simultaneously unlike present invention "Road Divider Cum Road Blocker"

Hence there was felt a need for blocking the road by barricades available at source with least minimum time and cost

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION :

To provide cost effective multipurpose road divider system

To provide barricades to block road at source

To shift road divider system easily to reduce traffic pressure

To block the terrorist/suspicious vehicle

To reduce time required to block the road

To avoid nuisance created by road barricades when not in use on the road

To provide plantation space on divider system to reduce light intensity of opposite side vehicle

To puncture the suspicious vehicle by providing nailing system

To provide the system with reflector

To provide the system with impact resist guard

SUMMERY OF THE INVENTION :

Road divider cum road blocker method of precast blocks to smoothen road traffic and stop terrorist vehicle, said method comprising :

A number of rows of blocks (4) used as road divider in normal situation a row of horizontally inter locking block , having a pin hole (6) at the centre and wheel (5) at the bottom a wire/ rope/bar/pipe/spring(7) passing through said pin hole to make attachment of block of row fitted to a fixed pole at one end (9A) or (9B) other end of initial row (3) of blocks move to other side of the road to block the road manually, semi automatically or automatically and locked in pole/fixing structure (8A )fixed at other side of the road

e. upper hallow part of block utilized for plantation ( 1 1 )

f. similarly back end /mid row of road divider(4) move towards similar side of the road to block the vehicie(lO) from back at pole (8B) on footpath(2)

g. The row of block(4) alongwith pole(9A) can be shifted to required Jane easily during peak hour of traffic to widen the road.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

The invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing which does not limit the scope and ambit of the invention. The description provided is purely by way of example and illustration. Referring to the accompanied drawing a road divider cum road blocker method (100) of suitable blocks to work as road divider in normal situations and road blocker in case of abnormal incidents as indicated in figures i ,2 , 3 & 4

Figure 1 illustrates front view of precast H block movable row ( 3 ) made from reinforced concrete or any other suitable material has a single hollow pipe passing through horizontal centre(6). Rope(7) passing through it to interlock the blocks and fixing to the adjacent pole . The nails(15) are fixed at suitable side of the block to puncture the vehicle in emergency. The block has impact resist protection (13) to avoid fatal accident. During night/evening solar powered/radium reflector(14) are provided at top and bottom of the block .

Figure 2 illustrates road divider by using H shape (3) reinforced concrete blocks. A row of blocks ( 4 ) interlocked horizontally with the help of wire covered with pipe ( 7) passing through hole (6 ) at the centre of the blocks. Wheels ( 5 ) be fixed at the bottom of the blocks at suitable distance for rotation of row of blocks. At front end and back end of the row of biock(3), pole ( 9 A ) is fixed under the ground to hold the block with the help of locking attachment(SA) . Front single row (3) will cover half width of the road ( I) by using at least blocks. Precast blocks joined horizontally by wire, pipe, bar, spring (7) to form row. Blocks are protected from damage due to hitting of a vehicle by impact resist guard (13 ).As well as side wall of the H blocks will have solar power reflector or radium reflector(l4) to highlight the road blocking system. A side of the block (3) have sharp points like nails (15) to puncture the vehicle in case of collision.

Figure 3 illustrates when suspicious vehicle(lO) coming towards road divider cum road blocking system, front row(3) will move manually, semi automatically or automatically to close the road(l) to stop the suspicious vehicle. Any common person can remove the attachment from pole (9A) in front of row (3) and move the row towards the other side of the road (1). The moving block (3) will get fixed/locked to the other side of the road in concrete structure, pole bar or any other suitable locking system (8A) by using wire/rope/bar/pipe/spring(7). In emergenc tion, Any common man can move the blocks (3) manually and locked it to pole(8A) but it can be unlocked only by official authority. Cameras can be fitted to both the sides of the road to observe and activate moving of the front and back blocks to block the vehicle. The blocks can be moved by gears, motorise, rail channel system. While moving blocks to close the road, siren system can be used to make aware other public/vehicles.

Figure 4 illustrates while blocking the vehicle from back side middle/end row of road divider rows(4) will block the suspicious vehicle (10) just like front row.

By this way, suspicious vehicle can be trapped in few minutes by using unique road divider cum road blocker method

Γη case of heavy accident on highway where long queue of vehicles accumulate, a part of the row of road divider system can be moved to other side to divert the traffic.

In case of heavy traffic at pick hour, complete road divider system moved to widen the road to make the traffic easy

TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES

The method as described herein above offers several advancements over similar products disclosed in the prior art. The system of the present

invention uses a method to serve dual purpose of road blocker and road divider at the same time. The present invention can be operated manually automatically or semi automatically very easily. The invention works in very few minutes without delay to block the road. The row of the block do not need to fix with the road and hence reduces the grouting cost. The row of block can be shifted to required lane easily during peak hour of traffic to widen the road. ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE

The dual-purpose road divider cum road blocker method in accordance

with the present invention helps in reducing cost required to carry barricades to block the road . The cost of construction of block on the road is minimised as the blocks can be interlocked with the help of wire/rope/pipe/spring/bar which does not need much capital. The design of block in the present invention is such that its self balancing way need no grouting
