Abstract:
A robot (10) comprising: a transfer mechanism (11); a hoisting and lowering mechanism (12) having columnar members (12a and 12b); a table (13) which is hoisted or lowered by the hoisting and lowering mechanism (12) and on which a variety of objects can be placed; an arm base (14) which is hoisted and lowered by the hoisting and lowering mechanism (12); arms (15) which are attached to the arm base (14); a sensor (16) which is capable of sensing both an object placed on the table and a periphery of the robot (10); and a control unit (20), wherein a rectangular parallelepiped circumscribed space circumscribing the robot (10) except for the arms (15) is in a shape of a rectangular parallelepiped having a bottom face that is a face of a rectangle that circumscribes, in a top view, the shape of the robot (10) except for the arms (15), the arms (15) each have a structure capable of accessing the outside of said circumscribed space, A is 110 cm or less when the length of one of the two orthogonal sides of the bottom face is defined as A, the length B of the other side is 110 cm or less independent of A, and the circumscribed space has a height H of 1.5A or more.
