Abstract:
Provided is a rolling bearing which has excellent high-temperature/high-speed durability and high quietness, can effectively prevent stripping on the rolling surface due to hydrogen brittleness and imposes a small load on the environment. A rolling bearing (1) comprising an inner ring (2) having a rolling surface in the outer peripheral face, an outer ring (3) having a rolling surface in the inner peripheral face, a plurality of rollers (4) positioned between the aforesaid both rolling surfaces, and a holder (5) holding the rollers (4), wherein the inner ring (2), the outer ring (3), the rollers (4) and/or the holder (5) are metallic bearing members, and the sliding surface or rolling surface of at least one of these metallic bearing members is coated with a polyhydric alcohol compound originating in a plant such as curcumin, quercetin, chlorogenic acid or the like.
