Title:
ROLLING PISTON
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/053726
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention relates to moving parts of hydrostatic, preferably hydraulic drives and solves the problem of substituting the sliding of a piston (1) on an internal surface (10) of a cylindrical space (9) by rolling thereof on said surface (10). The aim of the invention is to increase the efficiency factor of piston systems and decrease requirements with respect to a roughness and hardness of the internal surface (10), to remove the limits on the length of cylinders and to ensure a functioning of the piston systems without lubrication thereof in cold and hot task ambient atmosphere. An elastic tore (7) placed into a groove (6) which belts a piston (1) is a rolling and hermetic element of the piston. A drafting pressure of the internal surface (10) of the cylindrical space (9) applied to the elastic tore(7) in the groove (6) and a force actuating the piston (1), jointly roll the tore (7) on the surface (10) and glide on a surface of the groove (6) on account of the difference of roughness between the surfaces (6) and (10) and/or the application of special materials, for example fluoroplastic cushions (8), in the groove (6).
