Abstract:
This rotary cutting tool is provided with a core, and a plurality of PCBN tips provided at the outer periphery of the core, wherein: the plurality of PCBN tips include an inclined cutting edge positioned at an outer peripheral distal end and forming an angle θ1 at least equal to 20° and at most equal to 80° with respect to an axis of rotation, and an outer peripheral cutting edge positioned to the rear, in the direction of the axis of rotation, of the inclined cutting edge; a rotational diameter of the core to the rear, in the direction of the axis of rotation, of the outer peripheral cutting edge is less than the rotational diameter of the outer peripheral cutting edge; in a cross section perpendicular to the direction in which the inclined cutting edge extends, a cutting edge ridge of the inclined cutting edge is rounded with a radius r at most equal to 30 μm; and a maximum high-to-low value of the cutting edge ridge of the inclined cutting edge is at most equal to 20 μm.
