Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rotary damper capable of simplifying the configuration of a valve body and alleviating a load on assembly work including maintenance. A rotary damper (100) has a housing main body (102) the inside of which is partitioned into individual chambers (R1-R4) by stationary vanes (104, 105) and movable vanes (122, 123) of a rotor (120). In the end portions of the stationary vanes, inter-partition-wall areas (108, 112) are defined by first valve partition walls (106, 110) and second valve partition walls (107, 111), respectively, and valve bodies (113, 114) are received in the inter-partition-wall areas, respectively. In the valve bodies, passage blocking portions (113a, 114a) that completely block first valve passages (106a, 110a) formed in the inter-partition-wall areas and partially block second valve passages (107a, 111a), respectively, and fourth valve passages (113b, 114b) are formed.
