Abstract:
Since a rotary electric machine mounted in a vehicle such as an automobile is subjected to large vibrations that are generated in many directions, a rotary electric machine provided with a rear cover that has been further improved by a fixing means is required. A rotary electric machine provided with: a rotor and a stator having an armature winding that are accommodated in an accommodation space formed by a front bracket and a rear bracket; and a rear cover formed at a lower surface section side of the rear bracket and comprising a circumferential sidewall section and a bottom wall section, wherein the rear cover is provided with: a plurality of engagement openings in the circumferential sidewall section of the rear cover; and a step in which the diameter of a bottom wall section side of the engagement openings is different to the diameter of the sidewall section of an end surface opening side, and a bracket is provided with an engagement section which is inserted into the step in order to fix the rear bracket.
