Title:
ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/017269
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The rotary electric machine is provided with a control unit (55) and switches (53a, 56b) for supplying power to a field winding (43). Duty ratio is defined as the ratio of ON-time to one switching interval of the switches, and a predetermined value is specified, which is greater than the duty ratio corresponding to the field current at which the amount of decrease in the inductance of the field winding with respect to the increase in the amount of field current is the maximum value for the allowable range of values of field current and smaller than 100%. In this case, the control unit calculates a duty ratio under the condition that the upper limit of the duty ratio of the switches is the predetermined value, and turns the switches on and off on the basis of the calculated duty ratio. The rotary electric machine is provided with: relays (SW1, SW1, 57, SWA, SWB); and an abnormality detection unit which detects abnormalities in the switches. The relays can be switched OFF when an abnormality is detected by the abnormality detection unit.
