Abstract:
A rotary internal combustion engine comprising: an output shaft; a rotor; a housing; an annular operation chamber formed inside the housing or inside the housing and the rotor; a piston unit provided in the rotor and rotating inside the annular operation chamber; a plurality of movable partition members that partition the annular operation chamber; an intake chamber, a pressure chamber, a combustion chamber, and an exhaust chamber formed inside the annular operation chamber; an auxiliary combustion chamber formed in the piston unit and having an opening that opens to the top of the piston unit; a compressed gas guidance mechanism provided in the housing and guiding compressed mixed air or compressed air from the compression chamber to the auxiliary combustion chamber; and a combustion gas injection mechanism provided in the housing and injecting high-pressure combustion gas from the auxiliary combustion chamber to the combustion chamber.
