Abstract:
The invention relates to a rotary union for a conveyor system with a rotary object carrier (3) comprising object carrier elements (6) distributed around its circumference and on which objects are placed in order to be conveyed on a circular path from workstation to workstation in a production plant. The invention further relates to a conveyor system equipped with such a rotary union, to a production plant for manufacturing products, and to a method for conveying objects from workstation to workstation in a production plant. The rotary union according to the invention comprises a fixed component (19) with one or more media inlets (20.1, 20.2, 20.3) for supplying one or more media to one or more actuator units (12.1, 12.2; 18.1, 18.2) of an object carrier element (6.1, 6.2). The rotary union further comprises multiple components (24.1, 24.2, 24.3, 24.4) that are rotatable independently of each other about a common central axis (23) in relation to the fixed component (19), each having one or more media outlets (25.1, 25.2). The rotary unit makes it possible to establish a connection for the passage of media between a central supply device (21) and actuator units that are associated with object carrier elements (6) and can be moved on a circular path on an object carrier (3) or can stay in a fixed location on the object carrier.
