This rotating electric machine has a stator and a rotor. The stator is provided with an armature having: a stator core (4) having an integrated structure in which a plurality of teeth are formed that are sandwiched between a plurality of auxiliary slots (4b) formed with opening portions (44a) at the edge on the outer diameter side in the radial direction of the rotating shaft of the rotor; and auxiliary windings (8b) disposed in the auxiliary slots (4b) and wound around the teeth. The auxiliary windings (8b) have auxiliary windings (8b1) wound alternately around the teeth and auxiliary windings (8b2) wound around the teeth sandwiched between the teeth around which the auxiliary windings (8b1) are wound. In the auxiliary slots (4b), winding arrangement portions (44b) in which the auxiliary windings (8b) are arranged are wider than the opening portions (44a). The auxiliary windings (8b2) are also arranged in regions (44d) of the winding arrangement portions (44b), which is an extension of the opening portions (44a) in a direction of the end portion (44c) on the opposite side to the opening portions (44a) of the auxiliary slots (4b).
